Curriculum Provision

Speaking a language is not simply about learning some vocabulary, or knowing a little grammar. A genuine ability to communicate comes from an awareness and understanding of the culture of the people that use that language in their everyday lives. In order to impart this, and to enthuse students with a love of languages and other cultures, it is necessary to be taught be a language specialist. Although many schools choose to offer French, this is not compulsory and students are often excited about learning something different from their peers. We therefore provide language specialists in a number of different languages.

PPA Cover

We can provide any of our sessions as PPA cover. Curriculum delivery could take place during that time, as could taster sessions in different languages, or a beginners course in a language such as Russian or Japanese.

Experience Sessions

The Language faculty provides taster sessions in a range of languages that is constantly expanding! At the moment we offer Greek, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Dutch, Italian, Mandarin and Cantonese. The sessions can be tailored to various lengths and we work with you to ensure that we design a session that is at an appropriate level for your students and achieves the aims that you have for the group. We aim to incorporate cultural awareness and understanding into all our language sessions.

Lunchtime and After School Clubs

We offer communication based sessions which function wonderfully as after school clubs. It's a great way to enthuse students about languages and different cultures, have some fun and learn something new! Sessions are available in Polish, Greek, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Italian, Mandarin and Cantonese.
